As my mom and dad clean our old home on Spindale, I can't help but tear up. Moving to 720 Spindale Drive drastically changed the course of our lives--the sacrifice my parents made to give us our lovely childhood home can never be measured--and I cannot thank them enough. On Spindale, we created lifetime friendships, unforgettable memories and that little suburban, vastly Caucasian neighborhood in 1991, truly welcomed this crazy big Mexican family and helped mold us into the people we've become--to all those neighbors and friends who opened up their hearts to us-I say thank you as well and I know Ez, Daniel, Enrique and Indalecio share the gratitude. I have small memories (either as a result of my mom's stories or my good memory. . .:) of running up those 16 stairs and yelling in Spanish (the only language I knew) "mi casa, mi casa" I felt like a princess in her new castle and despite all the challenges we've lived through in our home, I still feel like a very blessed princess. ♥ These family portraits were taken to highlight our home, for it will always be "mi casa, mi casa"
